I've made the blanket version before and liked the result. However, I was in need of dishcloths, and, after consideration, got out my cotton yarn and began to follow the pattern, but stopping when it became the size I preferred.
I used Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn with a size H crochet hook. Each dishcloth took me forty-five minutes to an hour to complete.

Ch 5, slip st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 6, dc in ring. Ch 3 (dc in ring, ch 3) 3 times. Slip st in 3rd ch of beginning ch.
Rnd 2: Slip st into next ch 3 sp. Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp. (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in each ch 3 sp around, slip st into beginning ch.
Rnd 3: Slip st into next st. Ch 3. Dc in next dc. (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch 2 sp. Dc in next 2 dc. Skip next 2 dc. *Dc in next 2 dc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next 2 dc, skip next 2 dc. Repeat from * 3 more times. Slip st in beginning ch.
Rnd 4: Slip st into next st. Ch 3. Dc in next 4 dc. (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch 2 sp. Dc in next 4 dc. Skip next 2 dc. *Dc in next 4 dc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next 4 dc, skip next 2 dc. Repeat from * 3 more times. Slip st in beginning ch.
Rnd 5: Slip st into next st. Ch 3. Dc in next 6 dc. (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch 2 sp. Dc in next 6 dc. Skip next 2 dc. *Dc in next 6 dc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next 6 dc, skip next 2 dc. Repeat from * 3 more times. Slip st in beginning ch.
